Becky, You hit the nail on the head! I reposted on my FB page. I’ve been meaning to post something similar in the op-ed section of our county paper. One needs to look no further than what the students of Miner co did to recognize what a small change in spending habits can do for our small communities!

Tom, depends on the size of your town. Since we’re all about small town businesses here, there are fewer franchised businesses. However, the real point is…. did you support your local businesses by shopping there?

I wonder though, how many of those insurance reps will sell you policies from companies that have an online presence these days? Most do — you can’t survive without giving people the option to work with a rep in person or just buy insurance online.

I remember when I was in Little League as a kid — all the teams were sponsored but it wasn’t “Bob’s Car Wash.” It was Bob’s Simoniz Car Wash. Bob just owned the franchise. I would imagine it’s still the same today, if not more so.

Customers want to do biz locally - but sometimes they want to do it at 11pm in their jammies.

Local businesses need a productive web presence to make it EASIER for busy locals to support you.

Very well said. Insurance is one of those industries that I love paying any additional cost to pick up the phone and talk to someone, or walking down to their desk and chat. More people ought to consider local insurance for more than one reason.
